Résumé This Act sets the management plan for water resources in the Cooper Creek. Under section 2, the purposes of the plan are: (a) to define the availability of water in the plan area; (b) to provide a framework for sustainably managing water and the taking of water; (c) to identify priorities and mechanisms for dealing with future water requirements; (d) to regulate the taking of overland flow water. Chap. 2 specifies the plan area and water to which the plans applies. Chap. 3 establishes the outcomes for sustainable management of water. Chap. 4 concerns strategies for achieving outcomes. Chap. 5 covers the Monitoring and reporting requirements. Chap. 6 deals with the reviewing and amending of the plan. The plan is completed by nine Schedules: Plan area and subcatchment areas, Nodes, Allowable total increase for in-stream water storage capacity for subcatchments, Protected watercourses, Protected waterholes and lakes, Augmented waterholes, Map of protected watercourses, waterholes and lakes and augmented waterholes, Rates and pump sizes, Dictionary.
