The Act, among other things: provides for the representation of the United States in the International Commission for the Scientific Investigation of Tuna and the InterAmerican Tropical Tuna Commission provided for by the Conventions; requires the General Advisory Committee to be appointed and provides with respect to its functions; provides for the enforcement activities; defines offences with respect to fishing activities covered by Regulations made under this Act including unlawful international trade in tuna; authorizes all agencies of the Federal Government on request of the commissions to cooperate in the conduct of scientific and other programs, or to furnish facilities and personnel for the purpose of assisting the commissions in the performance of their duties.
