The amendments concern the introduction of new definitions: biological therapeutic, including medicines from large-scale cell cultures of bacteria, yeast, plant or animal cell; herbal drug; human and veterinary use; medical claim and diagnosis, restoration and disinfection activities concerning human and animal health; prescription only health product. New rules inserted concern: importation and exportation of biological therapeutics; manufacture of biological therapeutics; requirements for advertisement; prohibited advertisement; promotion and advertisement of medical devices; advertisement of herbal and complementary medicine; weight management claims; advertisement targeting pregnant and lactating women and related risks; advertisement for general public; general penalties.
