Résumé

These Regulations prescribe the method of election of Directors who shall represent the interests of smallholder tea growers in the Tea Board of Kenya established under section 3 of the Tea Act. For the purpose of election of such Directors the Minister shall convene meetings in each zone as specified in the First Column of the First Schedule. Every director of a tea factory company shall attend such meetings. The representation of zones shall be as specified in the Third Columns of the First Schedule. Only directors of tea factory companies shall be eligible as director of the Board (reg. 5). The members of the Kenya Tea Growers Association shall nominate four persons to represent plantation tea growers on the Board as specified in the Second Schedule and the directors of registered tea trade organizations shall nominate one member to represent their interests on the Board (regs. 8 and 9).
