Section 3 of the Regulation lists the designated reportable diseases. A person who suspects that an animal has a reportable disease or that an animal died while infected with a reportable disease must: a) ensure that the animal or any part of its carcass that may be a source of diagnostic material is protected from deterioration; b) ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to collect and store the diagnostic material in a way so as to preserve its integrity and diagnostic value; and c) give the diagnostic material to an inspector, or to another person authorized by the director to receive it for diagnostic testing.
