Résumé

These Regulations of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries prohibit the sale of fresh fruit produced in or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market (other than imported fresh fruit meeting specified requirements like those of the Codex Alimentarius), that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. The Regulations also: define quality classes of fresh fruit and prescribe quality standards for each class; prescribe rules relative to packing and labelling (including traceability) of fresh fruit and make provision for sampling, testing and inspection of citrus fruit. No person shall use any false or misleading labelling. The Tables set out general and specific quality requirements and methods of inspection.
