Résumé

These Regulations place restrictions on the sale of primary dairy products, composite dairy products or modified dairy products produced in or imported into South Africa. No person shall sell such products unless they comply with the standards for the classes as defined by these Regulations, is sold according to such defined classes, and is packaged and labelled as prescribed. The Regulations also prescribe general quality standards and provide with respect to sampling and testing methods. They also concern "imitation dairy products" i.e. any product other than a dairy product or a fat spread, that is of animal or plant origin and in general appearance, presentation and intended use corresponds to a dairy product. The Regulations prescribe standards with respect to quality and treatment for a wide range of dairy and related products.
