Résumé This Regulation declares that the area of "Osredak", positioned in the central part of the Republic of Serbia, located on the banks of the West Morava, is placed under protection and declared as protected area under the name " Special Nature Reserve Osredak", as a natural asset of regional or great importance and it is classified in category II of protection, as a special nature reserve. The special nature reserve "Osredak" is placed under protection in order to: preserve the wetland habitats in the valley of the West Morava, which consists of a network of old backwaters and dozens of newly formed lakes; preserve the Paleozoic crystalline shales of a high degree of metamorphism in the bottom, over which the Neogene and Quaternary rock complex, Belovodski sandstones, Pannonian-Pontic sediments are extend; preserve the presence of 44 plant species; preserve the remnant of mesophilic lowland floodplain pedunculate forests Quercion roboris; preserve community of white willow (Salicetum albae), brittle willow (Salix fragilis), white poplar (Populus alba), black poplar (Populus nigra), wicker (Salix purpurea); preserve endangered species yellow water lily (Nuphar lutea), cone spike (Pycreus glomeratus), burdock (Arctium lapp), thistle (Equisetum arvense), callus (Sambucus nigra) and comfrey (Symphytum officinalle); preserve bird habitats that form part of the migration corridor, but also to provide nesting conditions for many rare and protected species (83 bird species), amphibian habitats (presence of large green frog (Pelophylax ridibundus), toad (Bufo bufo) and green toad) Pseudepidalea viridis)) and reptiles (pond turtle (Emys orbicularis), whitefly (Natrix natrix), fisherwoman (Natrix tesselata) and smuk (Zamenis longissimus).
