Résumé

This Regulation prescribes the conditions that must be met by all breeding pets intended for sale. Animal species that are subject to protection in accordance with nature protection regulations can only be bred with the prior permission of the authority responsible for nature protection. The breeder must ensure the well-being and health of animals and prevent the infliction of pain, suffering and injuries or the intentional exposure of animals to fear, as well as prevent disorders in animal behavior and ensure that only clinically healthy animals are used in breeding. The breeder must provide conditions for animals in breeding in accordance with the type of animal, its level of development, adaptation and domestication, as well as physiological and ethological needs, and in accordance with generally accepted breeding practice and scientific knowledge in such a way that: a) the area where the animals stay must be built and maintained in accordance with zoohygiene principles and the needs of individual species of animals; b) drinking water and appropriate food must be constantly available, that is, offered, in an appropriate manner and in the necessary quantities; c) the entire space and all housing where the animals live must be accessible for maintenance and cleaning, and it must be possible to provide continuous, unhindered care for the animals; d) ensure the unhindered movement of animals, taking into account the type and age of the animal; e) make it impossible for animals to escape from the area; f) adequate veterinary care for the purpose of preserving the health of animals and the care of sick, injured and exhausted animals and assistance during childbirth will be provided if necessary; g) monitors the health status of the animals, at least twice a day (morning and evening), and if there are cubs up to seven days old in breeding and if birth or hatching is in progress, health status monitoring must be ensured every hour; h) for animals of those animal species for which it is appropriate, ensure the company of animals of the same species and the company of people for species where this is necessary due to socialization.
