Résumé This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on aquaculture, determines the conditions, criteria (also calculation methods) and manner of granting state aid for carp pond (freshwater fish) damage deriving from the presence or activity of various species of birds and other animals, as in accordance with the Guidelines for the examination of State aid in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. The subject of this state aid programme is the award of grants for damages (compensation) and/or lost profits caused by various species of birds and other animals in carp ponds. This type of aid shall be granted only in the event that the damage caused by species protected in accordance with European Union documents as listed in article 3 (see paragraphs 2 and 3).
