Résumé This Regulation establishes the method of carrying out the strategic assessment of plans and programmes that have significant effects on the environment. The text includes: the procedure for developing the strategic impact study; the mandatory content of opinions; relevant deadlines; the mandatory content of the report on the manner in which environmental protection requirements have been integrated into a plan or programme; the method of monitoring the environmental status in regard of significant environmental effects of plans or programmes during their implementation and the method of verifying the implementation of environmental protection measures which have become part of a plan or programme. The Regulation sets out requirements for carrying out the evaluation of the need for strategic environmental assessment to the plans and programmes, as well as the method of case-by-case examinations and the criteria for determining the likely significant environmental effects of the amendments to plans and programmes.
