Résumé This Regulation, issued by the issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, lays down minimum welfare requirements for the keeping of certain farm animals. With farm animals is meant vertebrates, as well as fish, reptiles, and amphibians, which are kept for the production of food, wool, fur, or for other agricultural purposes. The Regulation does not apply to swine, cattle, turkeys, broiler chickens and hatching egg production, and laying hens and pullets, to the extent that these are covered by specific Regulations. The provisions of this Regulation are minimum requirements that must always be met for the keeping of farm animals unless stricter requirements are stipulated in other legislation.
