Résumé This Regulation, issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, lays down rules on the addition of vitamins and minerals to food, with the exception of: 1. Dietary supplements; 2. Infant formula and follow-on formula; 3. Processed food based on cereals and baby food for infants and young children; 4. Food for special medical purposes; 5. Meal replacements for weight control; and 6. Household salt and salt used in bread and regular bakery products containing 20 mg or less of iodine per kg of salt. The use of additives is generally authorised as long as used in accordance with Annex 1, which lays down maximum contents per 100 g or 100 ml and maximum contents per serving. The addition of vitamins or minerals not covered by this general authorization shall be reported to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration in accordance with Article 5. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration shall update Annex 1 with additions of vitamins and minerals that may be used.
