Résumé This Regulation lays down rules on the management of sprat fishing for 2022-2023. It contains rules on fishing prohibitions and quotas; vessels with permission to participate in the coastal vessel group; and penalties and sanctions. The Regulation prohibits sprat fishing in the areas described in article 1, with the exception of Norwegian vessels holding a permit, which are allowed to fish for sprat in Norway's territorial waters. In the Skagerrak area, it can be fished up to 943 tonnes in accordance with the agreement between the EU and Norway. It is prohibited to fish for coastal sprat from January 1st to July 31st. The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries has the authority to halt fishing activities when the total or area quotas has been calculated as fully harvested.
