Revised regulations apply to both the Municipality of Farsund and Lyngdal and are applicable as of 1 January 2015.

Résumé

The purpose of this Regulation is to ensure and environmentally safe collection, transport, recycling and disposal of waste in Farsund and Lyngdal Municipalities. The document regulates the local entity Renovasjonsselskapet Farsund and Lyngdal AS (RFL) activity in carrying out these specific tasks on behalf of municipalities, and must meet requirements for handling household waste in accordance to Pollution Control Act. Local policies established in this Regulation include (1) Privacy sanitation technical plans; (2) Guidelines for calculating waste disposal fees and exemptions thereof; (3) Guidelines for the approval of private infrastructure for waste collection vehicles. This Regulation also applies to containment, collection and sorting of household waste – as well as domestic recycling and composting of waste. The document does not include provisions for industrial waste, liquid waste, large objects, hot ashes, animal carcasses, explosive or pyrophoric substances and infectious waste – an cannot be placed in the collection unit, but delivered to approved landfills. RFL has no concession to receiving explosives, infectious waste or animal carcasses. Electrical and electronic waste cannot be placed in the collection unit. These products are delivered to distributors or approved landfills. All hazardous waste will be delivered directly to the retailer or approved landfills.
