Résumé The Regulation sets guidelines in the mackerell-fishing activities in 2013. Norwegian vessels are not permitted to fish for mackerell in 2013, however exception is made to the participation by Norwegian vessels in the fishing and landing of max. 153 355 tons of mackerel in the territorial waters and economic and fishery zone around Jan Mayen, in the fishery protection zone around Svalbard and in international waters. Out of the given quota, 4 650 tons of mackerell shall be allocated for research and educational purposes, as well as 1 450 tons for bait. The maximum allowable catch of 153 355 tons of mackerel may be fished in EU waters in the ICES statistic area IVa. Of this quantity, 30 671 tons may be fished in EU waters in the ICES statistical areas VIa (north of 56° 30'N), and 11 788 tons may be fished in EU waters in the ICES statistical areas IIa and VII d, e, f and h. Of the total quota, a masimum of 3 000 tons may be fished in ICES statistic zone IIIa. The Fishing Directorate may differentiate quotas provided for in these regulations for fishing in EU waters in ICES statistical areas IIa, IVa, VIa (north of 56° 30 'N) and VII d, e, f and h.
