Résumé

State hydrological (swamp) reserve of regional significance "Yupiauzhsuo" in the Kalevala region is constituted for the preservation of the largest bog system in the Republic of Karelia – reference diversity of the Karelian ring aapa and transitional swamps of Fennoscandia without expropriation of land plots from tenants, landowners and possessors of land. Boundaries and features of the special protection regime of the wetland reserve shall be taken into account when developing plans and prospects for economic and social development, forestry regulations and development projects of forests, preparation of territorial planning documents, forest management and land inventory. The bog reserve is marked on the ground with warning and information signs along the perimeter of its boundaries. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state hydrological (swamp) reserve of regional significance "Yupiauzhsuo": (a) all types of timber extraction; (b) procurement of soft resin, haymaking and grazing of farm animals; (c) allotment of forest plots for construction, collective gardening and horticulture; (d) exploration and extraction of minerals, including peat; (e) hydroamelioration and irrigation; (f) drainage of forest land; (g) blasting operations; (h) application of fertilizers and toxic chemicals; (i) waste disposal; (j) off-road movement and parking of vehicles; (k) making fires outside equipped places; (l) collection and harvesting of rare and endangered species of mushrooms and wild growing plants recorded in the national and regional Red Books of protected species; and (m) destruction and damaging of notices and other information signs, as well as of equipped resting places.
