They shall apply to those designated by the competent authority as needing protection or improvement in order to support fish life, but shall not apply to waters in natural or artificial fish ponds used for intensive fish farming. The physical and chemical parameters that shall apply to waters designated by the Authority are listed in Annex I to these Regulations. For purposes of applying these parameters, waters are designated as salmonid waters or cyprinid waters. The Authority shall set values for each parameter in accordance with comments contained in the specified column of Annex I. The Authority shall also establish pollution reducing programmes, carry out sampling operations and publish periodically information designation of waters and parameters.
