Résumé The Act lays out general provisions for the survey, classification, lease, sale or any other form of concession or disposition and management of the lands of the public domain in Philippine. The Act applies to the lands of the public domain; but timber and mineral lands shall be governed by special laws. The Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce shall be the executive officer charged with carrying out the provisions of this Act. Article 9 of the Act determines classification of the lands for agricultural use; residential, commercial, industrial; educational, charitable; and reservations for town sites and for public use. Chapter III provides for forms of concession of agricultural lands through sale, lease, and for homestead settlement, and by confirmation of the judiciary for imperfect or incomplete titles. Chapter X of the text provides for town site reservation that is processed through the survey conducted by the Director of Lands for setting up new towns in the interest of public. Chapter XIII provides for applications including procedure, concession of lands, and legal restrictions and encumbrances. Chapter XV provides for penal provisions.
