They, among other things: designate the competent authority for purposes of the Directive and these Regulations; require the Secretary of State to ensure that the share of energy from renewable sources in the United Kingdom as calculated in accordance with article 5 of the Directive is increased as specified and require the Secretary of State to introduce measures for this purpose; provide for information of the public and certification schemes for installers of renewable energy systems.
