Résumé

The Plant Inspection Regulation is impleneting the EU Regulation with regard to protecting plant health and regulates the importation of plants and plant products, controlling the spread of harmful organisms, and ensuring compliance with established health and safety standards through effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms. It specifies that plants falling under certain risk categories must be reported to the relevant authorities at least one working day before arrival in Germany. If there is a suspicion of a harmful organism's presence or potential introduction, the competent authority can impose restrictions, such as prohibiting importation or requiring decontamination. The Julius Kühn Institute conducts risk analyses to determine the potential impact of these organisms and inform regulatory decisions. The Regulation further provides for control of packaging material made of wood; risk inventories; and export and transportation. The text consists of 23 Articles divided into 6 Parts and has 2 Annexes.
