Résumé The Order applies to bird diseases affecting livestock, in particular Psittacosis (Ornithosis) and sets regulations on the action to be taken in such cases. Laboratory testing is imperative in case of suspect outbreak in private (domestic) or commercial birds. Excemption from testing for commercial birds or poultry farms or zoological facilities when they have been treated for at least 45 days, and when birds or poultry have tested free of psittacosis twice in 14-days interval, and at least 60 days after treatment, whereby the tested samples have been approved by an authorized laboratory or that these animals were sacrificed. Subsequent cleaning and disinfection of cages, nest boxes and the like (article 6, section 1, No. 7) must take place with the approval of the Regional Food authorities.
