Résumé This Order establishes procedures for approval of production and use of genetically modified plants or animals. It applies to GMO plants or animals made with methods involving recombinant nucleic acid molecules or genetically modified organisms, including: mutagenesis, cell fusion (including protoplast fusion) of plant cells of organisms which can exchange genetic material through traditional breeding methods. In case of recombinant nucleic acid molecules or genetically modified organisms use, the following techniques may be applied: in vitro fertilization, natural processes such as conjugation, transduction, transformation, and polyploidy induction. Genetically modified organisms require approval from the Minister of Environment and data registration thereof is necessary for the documentation thereof.
