It is divided into 24 articles (defining sanitary requirements for import-export, plant protection measures, sanitary controls, protected zones, etc.) and 7 annexes (listing harmful agents in vegetable and plant products). A phytosanitary certification, granted by the IPPAA, is required for the trading of plants among EC countries.
