Résumé This Order lays down rules on the establishment and operation of aquaculture farms in Denmark. "Aquaculture farms" refer to breeding facilities consisting of net cages, wire crates, or similar structures, located in marine waters, and whose operation requires the use of feed. The establishment and operation of such farms may only take place with the permission of the Danish Agricultural Agency. Procedural aspects for obtaining the authorization is regulated in detail. The authorization for establishing and operating aquaculture farms may only be used once an environmental approval under Article 33 of the Environmental Protection Act has been obtained. The authorization shall last for a period of 10 years. Holders of permits shall report annually information about production quantities and feed consumption, as well as other information of a technical, economic, and operational nature.
