The Act defines duties of land owners or occupiers in respect of noxious weeds growing or occurring on the land for which he or she is responsible. It also defines powers of weed inspectors, prescribes penalties for various offences formulated by this Act and empowers Municipal Councils and Town Councils to make By-laws or Regulations compelling occupiers of land within the Municipality or Township to keep their land free from noxious weeds.
