Résumé

This Norm, consisting of 13 articles and two Annexes, establishes guidelines, requirements and procedures for the evaluation of the risks of active ingredient(s) of insect pollinator(s), using bees as indicator organisms. This evaluation will be restricted to active ingredients not yet registered in Brazil in technical products, or formulations, to the active ingredients submitted to the re-evaluation as well as to new claims of products formulated with active ingredients that have already been submitted to the risk assessment for insect pollinators. Registration applications submitted to this Institute up to the date of publication of this Norm will be evaluated based on the data and studies already filed at the date of submission of the application, and may be required complements for products with a risk indicator for pollinators. The general protection objectives to be achieved with the risk assessment of pesticides for pollinating insects are: to protect pollinating insects and their biodiversity; and to guarantee ecosystem services provided by them, including the pollination service, the production of colony (honey, propolis, wax, etc.) and the provision of genetic resources.
