L. 93-523); and related regulations applicable to public water systems. It applies to each public water system, unless the public water system meets all of the following conditions: (a) consists only of distribution and storage facilities (and does not have any collection and treatment facilities); (b) obtains all of its water from, but is not owned or operated by, a public water system to which such regulations apply: (c) does not sell water to any person; and (d) is not a carrier which conveys passengers in interstate commerce. More specifically, the part provides for maximum contaminant levels; monitoring and analytical requirements; reporting and recordkeeping; special regulations, including monitoring regulations and prohibition on lead use; maximum contaminant level goals and maximum residual disinfectant level goals; national primary drinking water regulations: maximum contaminant levels and maximum residual disinfectant levels; filtration and disinfection; control of lead and copper; use of non-centralized treatment devices; streatment techniques; disinfectant residuals, disinfection byproducts, and disinfection byproduct precursors; consumer confidence reports; enhanced filtration and disinfection—systems serving 10,000 or more people; public notification of drinking water violations; ground water rule; enhanced filtration and disinfection—systems serving fewer than 10,000 people; initial distribution system evaluations; stage 2 disinfection byproducts requirements; enhanced treatment for cryptosporidium; and revised total coliform rule.
