The anti‐pollution equipment shall be based on the Best Available Technology (BAT), the Best Practical Technology (BPT) or the Uniform Effluent Standards (UES). The Regulations also requires effluent to be treated to a uniform level as specified in the Second Schedule to these Regulations to ensure assimilation by the receiving water into which the effluent is discharged and provide for monitoring of effluent to ensure compliance with these Regulations and reporting to the nearest office of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency.
