Sujet Environnement gén., Pêche, Mer Mot clé Pollution de la mer Navire de pêche Certification Navigation Enregistrement Aire géographique Afrique, Afrique Orientale, Océan Indien, Petits états insulaires en développement Résumé These Regulations, made by the Minister under section 228 of the Merchant Shipping Act, concerns tonnage measurement of ships flying the flag of Mauritius and the ascertainment, at the request of the contracting State of the gross and net tonnage of a foreign ship and issue to the foreign ship a tonnage certificate. Measurement provisions for ships under 24 metres of total length shall not apply to fishing vessels. Where segregated ballast tanks, complying with Regulation 18 of Annex 1 of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 (MARPOL), are provided in an oil tanker, an entry indicating the total tonnage of the tanks may be made in the tonnage certificate.
