Résumé

These Regulations, made under the Meat Control Act, prescribe the requirement of a licence of the Director of Veterinary Services for the operation of a slaughterhouse, i.e. any abattoir or any other place where animals are slaughtered and meat is prepared or meat products are manufactured for the purpose of export. The form of application for a licence is laid down in the First Schedule and the licence shall be in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule. Where the Director orders any slaughterhouse closed in accordance with regulation 12 of the Meat Control (Slaughterhouse) Regulations, any licence issued in respect thereto shall cease to have effect. Operation of a slaughterhouse without a licence shall be an offence.
