This Order is made under Section 6 of the Maritime Jurisdiction Act, 1959 as amended by Section 2 of the Maritime Jurisdiction (Amendment) Act, 1964. Section 6 grants power to the Government to provide that the exclusive fishery limits shall include a wider area of sea than the one specified in the Act.
