Résumé

The effect of this Order is, from 1 January 1977, to extend the exclusive fishery limits of the State to 200 nautical miles from the nearest point of the baseline or, where because of the proximity of another State the Order cannot be applied, to the equitable equidistant line between the State and the other State. This Order is made under Section 6 of the Maritime Jurisdiction Act, 1959 as amended by Section 2 of the Maritime Jurisdiction (Amendment) Act, 1964. Section 6 grants power to the Government to provide that the exclusive fishery limits shall include a wider area of sea than the one specified in the Act.
