This Act is divided up into 8 parts and contains the following: Personal Injuries and Fatalities; Apportionment of Liability; Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims; Liability for Carriage of Passengers by Water; Liability for Carriage of Goods by Water; Liability and Compensation for Pollution; Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund and General Provisions. Under the Liability and Compensation for Pollution section, The document introduces several International Conventions provisions related to sea pollution, oil spills and Civil Liability. This section also defines the procedural regime for sea pollution before Canadian courts. Section 7 on Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund contains a regime of Levies To Be Paid to the Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund, the International Fund and the Supplementary Fund.
