Résumé The Law determines principles for water management services in Latvia. Its purpose is to facilitate availability of water management services which are qualitative and conforming to the environmental requirements in order to ensure service users with continuous and safe services balancing the interests of environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources and socio-economic interests. The Law determines the competence of public authorities in provision of availability of the water management services; general requirements and procedures for the provision and use of the water management services; and rights and obligations of a service provider and service user.
