Résumé The present Law transposes into German law the Directive 98/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations of 22 June 1998. In particular, the purpose of the Law is to promote the increase, production and use of renewable thermal energy to protect the climate and the environment, as well as to promote the use of related technologies in such a way as to improve the sustainable supply of energy. The text consists of 27 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Residential buildings (2); Non-residential buildings (3); Exceptions and exemptions (4); Implementation and responsibilities (5); Completing provisions (6).
