Résumé This Law, consisting of 50 articles divided into eleven Chapters, establishes the Solid Waste Policy. It specifies principles, objectives and instruments, as well as the procedures, standards and criteria regarding the generation, packaging, storage, transportation, treatment and final disposal of solid waste within the territory of the Federal District. The Policy aims at controlling pollution and contamination, as well as minimizing its environmental impacts, in accordance with Federal Law No. 12.305 of 2 August 2010. The objectives of the Policy are: protection of public health and environmental quality; non-generation, reduction, reuse, recycling and treatment of solid waste, as well as environmentally appropriate final disposal; encouraging the adoption of sustainable patterns of production and consumption of goods and services; adoption, development and improvement of clean technologies as a way to minimize environmental impacts; reducing the volume of hazardous waste; promote the recycling industry, with a view to encouraging the use of raw materials and inputs derived from recycled materials; integrated solid waste management; articulation between the public power and the business sector, with a view to technical and financial cooperation for integrated solid waste management; continuous technical training in the area of solid waste; public services for urban cleaning and solid waste management; integration of reusable and recyclable material collectors into actions involving shared responsibility for the product life cycle; encouraging the implementation of the product life cycle assessment; encouraging the development of environmental and business management systems aimed at improving production processes and reusing solid waste, including recovery and energy use, etc. Texte intégral Portugais Site web www.sinj.df.gov.br Références - Législation Implemente Law No. 12.305 on the National Policy on Solid Waste Management.
