Civil Code regulations are applicable to land relationship with regard to provisions established by land legislation. The document consists of XV Sections that contain 36 Chapters sub-divided into 164 articles. Section I lays down the general provisions. It contains Chapters 1-12. Section II establishes the rights and the duties of land-tenants, landlords and the owners of the plots of land. Section III concerns land-ownership, land-tenancy and the right of ownership of the citizens of Belarus to the plots of land. Section IV concerns agricultural land. Section V regards populated area land. Section VI regards industrial land, and land destined for transportation, communications, energetic, defence and other purposes. Section VII regards protected area land, sanitary, recreational and historical and cultural land. Section VIII regards forestland, water stock land and reserve land. Section IX regards the use of land exposed to nuclear contamination. Section X regards compensation of damage to land-tenants and landlords caused by losses of agricultural and forest production. Section XI regards land protection and state control over the use and protection of land. Section XII regards land monitoring, state land cadastre and land survey. Section XIII deals with settlement of land disputes and establishes the liability for the infringement of land legislation. Section XIV deals with international agreements.
