Résumé This Joint Norm, consisting of 12 articles and four Annexes, regulates the registration of microbiological products. It establishes procedures to be adopted for the purpose of recording microbiological agents used in the control of a population or biological activities of another living organism considered to be harmful. For registering the above mentioned microbiological agents, the applicant shall submit to the federal agencies of agriculture, health and the environment two forms of the application foreseen in Annex II, items 1 to 12 and item 14, of Decree 4.074 of 4 January 2002, and the data and studies included in Annexes I and II of this Norm. In addition to the data common to the three federal agencies, specific information should be presented to ANVISA and IBAMA, respectively. Tests for the evaluation of the efficiency of microbiological products intended for use in the production, storage or processing of agricultural products in planted forests or in pastures shall be carried out from experimental stations accredited to the MAPA, as provided in specific legislation.
