A Radiation Protection Board is established under section 5 and a Radioisotope Advisory Committee under section 13. Part V of this Act provides for a system of licences to use radioactive material, i.e. all material emitting ionising radiation of sufficient intensity as to entail a significant risk of disability or disease as result of exposure.
