It applies: (a) to any person, who is a Hindu by religion in any of its forms or developments, including a Virashaiva, a Lingayat or a follower of the Brahmo, Prarthana or Arya Samaj; (b) to any person who is a Buddhist, Jaina or Sikh by religion; etc. 10. The property of an intestate shall be divided among the heirs in class I of the Schedule in accordance with detailed rules. 14, (1) Any property possessed by a female Hindu, whether acquired before or after the commencement of this Act, shall be held by her as full owner thereof and not as a limited owner. 15. (1) The property of a female Hindu dying intestate shall devolve according to the rules set out in section 16.
