Entry into force notes

This Governmental Decree enters into force six months after the date of its official publication.

Résumé

This Governmental Decree shall be applicable to extraction solvents used in the manufacturing of foodstuffs and food ingredients, including all imported extraction solvents used in the manufacturing of foodstuffs and food ingredients. It shall not be applicable to extraction solvents, used in the production of food additives, vitamins and other nutritional additives, unless these food additives, vitamins and nutritional additives are included in the Annex, and shall not be applicable to extraction solvents or foodstuffs destined for export. Food sector operators shall ensure that the use of food additives, vitamins and other nutritional additives does not lead to the presence in foodstuffs of extraction solvents in residues hazardous to human health. Substances and materials included in the Annex are used as extraction solvents in the production of foodstuffs or food ingredients in accordance with the conditions of use and, if necessary, under the maximum residue limits specified in the relevant annex. Other substances and materials are not used as extracting solvents, and the conditions of use or the permissible level of residues of extraction solvents listed in the Annex must comply with the specifications contained in the Annex. Extraction solvents used in the processing of foodstuffs must be reported on label of foodstuffs.
