Résumé

This Regulation is intended to protect consumers of fish and fishery products in terms of food safety in order to prevent significant health risks during harvesting, handling, processing, marketing and export by licensed fish business operators. To this end, this Regulation shall apply to all stages from capture, handling, processing and export of fish and fishery products for commercial fish business operators licensed by the Marshall Islands Marine Resource Authority. This Regulation underlines that food and fish production is of paramount public health concern, all fish business operators may be subjected to the requirements of the national Food Safety Act. Moreover, this Regulation lays down rules for the obligations of licensed fish business operators for food safety, designation and duties of the authorized Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority officer, licensing procedures for fish processing establishments, certification of exports, and the prohibition against the export of fish and fish products for commercial purposes without a fish export license.
