The levy is imposed on deciduous fruit produced in or imported into South Africa (dried fruit bought or received by a packer or imported by a packer or processor or produced by a producer). The levy shall be administered by Dried Fruit Technical Services. "Dried deciduous fruit" means apricots, apples, nectarines, pears, peaches, prunes and vine fruit in any form and subjected to a drying process.
