Résumé This act establishes a policy for the preservation and management of the acoustic environment, intended as a “the part of the environment of an areara or a place characterised by the noise that may be experienced there”. To achieve this purpose, the policy is to identify environmental values to be enhanced or protected; (b) state acoustic quality objectives for enhancing or protecting the environmental values; and (c) provide a framework for making consistent, equitable and informed decisions about the acoustic environment. Part 3 sets environmental values and acoustic quality objectives, and Part 4 states the management hierarchy for an activity involving noise .
