Résumé This Act lays down the rules for the operation of the electricity market, production, transmission, distribution, storage and supply of electricity, rights and protection of final customers, methods and forms of public utilities in the transmission and distribution of electricity and the electricity market, principles and measures aimed to achieve security of electricity supply and regulates measures to prevent energy poverty and other issues regarding the electricity supply. Transposition and enforcement of European Union rules is laid down in article 2. The purpose of the Act is to ensure a competitive, secure, reliable and accessible electricity supply, taking into account the principles of sustainable development, and to establish comprehensive competitive, flexible, fair and transparent electricity markets. Electricity activities include: electricity generation, supply of electricity, electricity trading, energy storage, aggregation, system operator activity, activity of distribution operator, activity of the electricity market operator.
