Entry into force notes

This Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation and upon acknowledgement by the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR).

Résumé

The Order's objectives are to promote the conservation and sustainable development of the country's peatland and peatland resources through the effective implementation and enforcement of pertinent specific measures required under various laws; to ensure that plans, programs and activities in or around peatlands are consistent with the goals of the Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and to guide activities on raising public awareness of the existence of peatlands in the Philippines. This Order shall guide sustainable development planning and management of peatlands in public as well as titled lands. The Order further provides for the actions to be considered for implementation of the strategies of the sustainable development planning and management of peatlands, responsibilities of the DENR offices, raising public awareness, monitoring and evaluation. The Order consists of 13 Articles.
