The Minister may prohibit importation or transit of products for purposes of protection of public health (art. 3). Article 4 concerns the application of provisions of Directive 97/78/EC in the Netherlands. Articles 5 to 10 contain all substantial requirements for the importation of products: these requirements are all extracted from specified EC legislation. The Minister may add conditions on the basis of articles 11 and 12. Article 13 prohibits importation of meat from third countries that is infected with specified diseases. Remaining articles (arts. 14-20) concern inspection of meat and duties of the official veterinarian, repeals, and entry into force.
