The scope encompasses echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods. Such products may be placed on the market as long as the comply with the health requirments hereby established. They must, inter alia: come from production zones meeting the conditions set out in Chapter I of the Annex; be transported according to the conditions prescribed under Chapter II of the Annex; meet the hygiene requirements established by Chapter IV of the Annex; be subjected to inspection as per Chapter VI of the Annex; fulfill the packaging requirements set out in Chapter VII of the Annex. Consignments of live bivalve molluscs for human consumption coming from third countries may be imported only if they meet the requirements established by this Decree.
