Résumé

This Decree lays down rules with respect to the transport of live fish and other aquatic organisms. These rules aim at preventing the spreading of infectious disease and of unnecessary suffering of animals during transport. They also apply to operations in the Norwegian economic zone. Aquatic organisms are animals living in water except birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. Transport is here defined as the moving of aquatic organisms outside their hygienic unit. The Food Control Office shall approve transport units (sect. 4). Transport units which have been abroad shall upon return be disinfected and cleaned (sect. 5). Section 6 specifies conditions for the registration of approved transport units and the communication of information regarding cleaning, disinfection and treatment of dead fish, etc. No transport of fish shall take place except with approved transport units (sect. 8). The county veterinarian concerned may issue instructions regarding hygiene during transport (sect. 9). Section 10 prescribes rules on cleaning and disinfection. The remaining sections provide, among other things, for transport books and the transport of roe. (15 sections)
