The Director of fisheries may grant exemptions on the prohibition. It is in general forbidden to have on board scallops which measure less than 60 mm. The amount of undersized scallops may not exceed 10 percent of the total amount on board after the shells have been passed through the sorting installation. Participating vessels may be ordered to take biological tests for scientific purposes or to report on the place of taking of queen scallops in accordance with specifications of the Directorate of Fisheries.
